Just a prediction poll to see everyone's guesses on Sid's career goals as he sits on 500.

He's 34 and I'm guessing he plays for several more years. Let's be honest hockey is Sid's world I can see him going to 40.

I think he can average...if healthy, 20 goal years. I think he'll end this year with around 512 goals.

My prediction: 603

My big question is does he retire at the end of this contract. Could easily see it.

He'll be what 37 at the end of this contract? Basically Carter's age. I could see him doing a 2/3 year send off. Even with injuries he looks fantastic still and as driven as he is. You never know. Not like he has family telling him to stop.

If he plays til 38-39 I can see over 600 easily. If he doesn’t re-sign for another couple seasons and calls it quits at the end of the current contract then it’s a stretch but still doable if he stays healthy.

If he's healthy I think he'll score close to 30 a year. But let's be real, he won't stay healthy. I would guess 4 more seasons before he hits it? Seems about that time he'll be thinking about hanging them up.

I think it would be fitting if he ended up top 10 in regular season points and top 5 in playoffs points when it's done. Seems doable.

He has 500 career goals

He has 3 years remaining plus the rest of this one. Without the injuries he would have been pressing for #700 with 3 years left on his contract (Thanks Steckel/Hedman). He lost his around 2 seasons worth more in his true prime where he was scoring more 40/50+ than 30+. I think he lost in the 90+ range than what most use his 35 goal range. That changes it to more like 90+ lost goals instead of the 70 most use. They don't take what he was actually doing at the time.

32 games remaining and probably around 12/15 more goals this year, and he's good for 28 to 35 a year at this point, will average it out to 30 which would give him with this years around 605 and if he signs for a couple more I can see over the 653 mark in the poll.

Sid is probably freakish as Jagr was about being in shape. If Jagr can play to 50, I have no doubts Sid could. But I doubt he'll want to, need to. He'll follow the Steve Yzerman to 39/40 I believe. Save should he get that one final cup and bow out at 38. Then he'll be at the 605 range.

Just think Crosby could have been pushing for near 800 goals.

I thought the thread was asking how many career goals Crosby has, but I guess people are reading it as “how many goals will Crosby have at the end of his career?”.

At least 650, if he plays til 40.

I used his career averages on shots per game and shooting percentage, but then decreased them every year by 2.5% [as in I multiplied by 0.975]. And yes, I built in him missing games. I'm guessing he'll get another 14 this season and then 26 next season, then 24, 23, 22, 21, and 20.

No, I did not get that 2.5% from anywhere other than my head.

Fairly reasonable. I think getting to 600 is the goal now. Anything past that is gravy. To me, 601 is just as good as 651.
