Seth Jarvis in a re-draft is top 3, Slavin and Pesce are 3rd/4th round picks. Our scouts definitely are working hard.
Wet blanket time. :naughty:

The GM and scouts that drafted Slavin and Pesce and even Aho aren't the same ones that drafted Jarvis and are drafting now.

There was not a lot of scouting needed to pick Jarvis. Many mock drafts had him going in the 12-14 range. While he was 18th on McKenzie's list, guys like Pronman had him 13th, Sportsnet had him at 15. NHL central scouting had him at 11. Dobber's mock draft had Quinn going to the Canes at 13 and Jarvis to the Oilers at 14. Etc...

As far as the current regime goes. Morrow, Nikishin, Kochetkov, Drury, FUS, Koivunen, Ponomarev, Blake, etc.. all look promising as non-1st rounders.

Carolina's ability to turn up players draft after draft is enviable. They can make a Guentzel style deal because of how they do their draft work.
It's taken a few years for the picks to bloom but yeah, it's starting to look pretty stacked right now. Funny thing is, even at this time last year our prospect situation was deemed poor enough many argued we couldn't outbid the Devils for Meier and that we'd never have the kind of trade pieces to be able to pull off a true big name trade. So yeah, it's good that we are now seeing the farm flourish in full.

Going to need a few of these guys to start contributing at the NHL level soon, given what we are looking at in terms of the cap in the coming years.
