I love connolly, but he aint crosby.
He hasnt earned jack from refs. Plus, when u keep complainjng that demonstratively, you start to embarrass ref. They're not gonna put up with it

It's not so much keeping his head up as it is not having a feel for the game in certain situations...as fast as he is sometimes his brain can't keep up with the speed of the game.

It takes a huge set of balls for Sutherland to T up Connelly after completely blowing that call skating right behind the players.

This was another prime example of Caps getting completely jobbed by the refs. 3 of those Penalties shouldn't have been called because the Devils committed dead obvious penalties seconds prior.

Even if your stick is being held, it doesn't give you the right to slash another player. Maintaining control of your stick is your responsibility. Him pulling it out with all his might in a situation where it ends up 2-handing into another player is still absolutely a penalty. There was no situation in which Connolly wasn't going to get 2 for slashing there, even if the ref saw the hold.

In other words, the refs missed the hold, but got the incredibly visible slash. He deserved the 2, and then constantly mouthing off earned him the second 2. Dumb play all around by Connolly there.

He did not miss the Holding. He choose not call it just like the trip on Ovie was not called. Sutherland was standing right behind them the whole time. He needs to man up and take the call out without getting butt hurt about it. It was also incredibly unprofessional to start yelling back and then T him up.

He's 31, plays a hard style and is past his goal scoring prime. Meanwhile, this is the best Caps team in franchise history. I choose to focus on that.

Saturday should be interesting as a certain defenceman for the Flyers might have his head on a swivel.
