Looks exactly the same on the scoresheet...

Even the scoreboard counts shots. You're being very stubborn about something so basic, a powerplay generating ~3-4 good chances is traditionally going to get you results.

One stuck in the neutral zone is not. Scoring is not the only way to judge a good powerplay from a bad one.
