This is where it starts to get dicey for me. Went with Riat. He seems more NHL capable than any of the others. At this point.
I agree and actually went with Riat as well.

I feel like you could argue a lot of guys depending on the angle you decide to take.

Riat has been putting up decent numbers for several years now in a men's league and probably looks the most likely to have top 6 upside of the remaining prospects.

At least right now.

Some of the newer guys may also have to 6 upside (Leason, Trineyev), but it’s pretty barren. I almost went Nardella....he’s prob next for me. Then guys like Has and the aforementioned forwards

Think I'm going with Beck here. I don't know that he'll be more than a 4th liner, but I think his chances of at least playing a regular NHL shift for multiple seasons are pretty high. He's only 22 and is already close I think.

Had to go with Nardella. The fact they want him playing meaningful minutes in the SHL also shows the organization is high on him IMO. Get as many reps in as possible in case there’s no AHL season. Plus, he’ll be able to return to NA when his season is over

some combination of riat, nardella, trineyev, and magnusson finish the top 10. all are projects that defenitely have lots of upside that could pan out and would be really great if they did

Just a reminder, for as impressive as Nardella's rookie AHL season was, he's a year older than Jonas Siegenthaler and the same age as Jakub Vrana.
Some guys are late bloomers. Not going to knock a guy for having a solid rookie season because of his age. He earned every bit of ice time he received. He was a healthy scratch for a good part of the beginning of the season and didn’t come out of the lineup as soon as he was given a chance.

Why? He's a big dude whose game takes time to translate from juniors to pro. He's got the size, shot, and talent to be a middle six guy at the NHL level and I don't see the need to knock him because his season went about as expected.
On the one hand he did have as many points as Fehervary in six fewer games last season. On the other, his skating and physicality will need to go a long way to improve to where he's a clear scoring-line NHL option. He's two years younger than Sprong but I tend to doubt he makes up enough ground to match him by then. Hopefully he's used the time off to become much more explosive. Otherwise he may be one of the most negatively impacted players by all of the time off. I do like his two-way sense generally but if he can't move well enough or better use his size there will be limitations.

He should still be squarely ahead of Gersich/Clark/Sutter but Trineyev is three years younger and IMO more toolsy. The remainder of the top ten for me goes Nardella, Trineyev, Riat and AJF. Then Malenstyn & Leason rounding out the top 12. In the short-term everyone will need to take someone's spot or, more likely, be forced into duty via injuries and run with it. It may be that these are merely organizational types but ideally some step up both in setting the tone in Hershey and challenging for depth spots. Their depth is improving but you'd still like to see more recent picks and more of the fringe older players making cases for promotion.
