So, per sportsclub stats:

A regulation win raises our playoff chances from .2% to .4%

A regulation loss takes them to effectively 0.

A regulation loss by the capitals takes them from 62% to 50%

A regulation win takes takes them to 75%.

So, while its a real non issue for us (we're already effectively eliminated), it's a huge swing for the Capitals. And on a milestone night for a team mate.

I guess embrace the spoiler role and win one for Skinner (as a good bye present, maybe, please?)

He has no passion for anything related to our own end. He's never seen there doing backcheck. He's always waiting around center while our guys get their faces smashed into the glass in our end. Pass it to me!!

Why stop there? Everybody vs Jeff Skinner? Most of our guys should be on the list also cause they get playoffs after being traded or signing somewhere else. Except Jeff, he will never be traded again.

C'mon.

Playing 1000 games in the NHL is just flat-out impressive and an accomplishment.

There have been ~8000 players to ever play in the NHL. Just about 400 have played 1000 games. 5%.

That's worth celebrating in and of itself.

I'm happy for Jeff. He's a happy guy who has some amazing skill and one of the best skaters I've ever seen. Making 1000 games in the NHL is an incredible accomplishment and one player other than maybe a goalie is not the reason you do or don't make the playoffs. He's also a stand up guy with his time with charitable causes. Good for him!
