Here’s my spreadsheet for upcoming UFAs, each team’s cap situation, and a trade tracker. I update the spreadsheet daily. I use CapFriendly to create this list and AFP Analytics for the contract projections.

Edit: Spreadsheet has been updated with AFP's latest projections and I added a new section for RFAs.

I'm also totally fine with "running it back" with mostly the same roster. I believe with a healthy Demko we'd be in round 3. (No disrespect to Silovs I fully expect him and Demko to split games next season).

Additionally I expect Poolmans LTIR cap to be traded so we can start accruing space for next year's deadline.

Hronek for Draft picks + prospects
Mikeyev + picks for cap space

Lots of available 4-6 UFA defencemen with good size this year, no point overpaying for Zadorov or Myers.

I really don't see it being that tough to move Mikheyev so long as we're adding a sweetener. Teams like San Jose, Chicago, Utah and such aren't expected to do much of anything with a lot of available cap space. San Jose, in particular, would probably love the draft pick or prospect we toss them.

The bigger issue could be Mikheyev nicking any deals to those teams.
What price do you think that sweetener will be?

Biggest Team Need: Puck retrievers who can also be a net front presence. Too many perimeter players on the team just coasting, need more tenacity and bite up front, gritty forwards with that dog in em to get to the dirty areas consistently, forwards that play brutally hard and win board battles, ferocious puck retrievers who don’t let defenders clear the puck or exit the zone and make them pay.

Rush chances were probably even, but throughout most of the 2nd round the Canucks could barely get through the neutral zone and the Oilers gained the offensive zone easily and established an effective cycle, and I think the biggest reason was that Hronek and Hughes were banged up and/or unable to adjust to the physicality and pace of the games. I don't think this team would have reached the 3rd round regardless of who was in net.

Hopeful scenario: 2025 2nd or less
Probable scenario: 2025 1st or a prospect

I'd love to simply pay our 3rd and some combination of 5-6th rounders but yeah, that's the very ideal outcome. Either way, I think it's worth paying even a 1st over buying him out.

Some interesting top six forwards out there.

I've long been a fan of Anthony Duclair, and I don't think he'd break the bank to acquire.

I've long thought the say and really wished we targeted him at the deadline. We could very likely sign him to somewhere close to what he's making now and still afford Bertuzzi or Toffoli which would help create actual scoring depth instead of trying to make Suter something he isn't.

I hope this management group can pull a rabbit out of its hat again with “money puck” signings to replace UFAs like what they did with Joshua, Blueger, Suter, and Soucy.

I think Hoglander has a decent chance of being traded. He didn’t look like the type of player that can excel in the playoffs, and his value is likely at an all time high.

Yeah us and most other teams in the NHL. Those players don't grow on trees. Hopefully this management group can identify and bring in some diamonds in the rough.

Toffoli is a guy I'd be really interested to slot in on Petey's wing. He needs some talent to play with, and they had some chemistry and enjoyed playing together before Benning f***ed that free agency period. I know his wheels aren't great, but the dude scores goals.

Duclair is definitely an interesting gamble - I bet he sticks around in Tampa Bay though.

Zero interest in Mantha at anything more than like, $1M.

One name that interests me is Tanner Jeannot as a gamble to replace Joshua. Especially if we can get a sweetener to take his cap hit on.

I would be looking to sell high on Hoglander.

Would look at pursuing Dillon, Carrier, Tanev, and Chatfield in free agency to shore up the back end.

Would also keep an eye on qualifying offers to Luke Kunin and Erik Brannstrom.

Toffoli faded hard over the year, and he's at that danger age. Pass on anything longer than a one-year deal.

I'll do a more in-depth analysis on team needs later, but for what it's worth I don't think the team dump Mikyahev unless it's cheap to do so or they need the cap space for a bigger fish they know they can secure.

Much more likely they do what they did with Beauvillier, then use that space mid-season to make an acquisition based on what the team needs are then. We're fairly asset-lite at the moment, and without knowing what the UFA market prices are going to be in a rising cap world, the last thing you want to do is dump him and then just get blank space back in return.

Wonder if they’re still interested in acquiring Guentzel. Will be interesting to see how they clear up cap space to round out their top 9.
