Here’s my spreadsheet for upcoming UFAs, each team’s cap situation, and a trade tracker. I update the spreadsheet daily. I use CapFriendly to create this list and AFP Analytics for the contract projections.

Edit: Spreadsheet has been updated with AFP's latest projections and I added a new section for RFAs.

Based on those projected salaries, we could fit in Big Z, DJ, Tanev, Blueger and one of Hronek or Lindholm with some juggling.

They quietly mentioned something about him having responsibilities at his kids hockey academy or something like that.

Hard to imagine the management group no looking into unloading Cole Hronek and especially Mikayev.

Thats a lot of players to replace, interesting to see how they plan this out come off season.

Yeah of our free agents you'd have to think Joshua Lindholm and Z have priority. Mikhayev is going to be hard to shed I think.

Gotta get silovs locked up too.

Age might have finally caught up with Cole. Lowered stamina affects everything, and things just pile on when they start going bad.
But I wouldn't mind him back as 7th D.

Hronek's agent is probably praying that he can start producing big.

Moving Mikheyev might be the hardest task this off season, but Allvin somehow moved Kuzmenko, so, in Allvin we trust

Alright we already have some of the pieces for next year. I don't think we need to resign Lafferty or DeSmith.

Lafferty - Aman
DeSmith - Silovs
Cole - Juulsen
Mikheyev - Podkolzin

I would also resign Myers for cheap. I think he honestly deserves it with how well he's played in the playoffs.

I want to really like Juulsen, but I just don’t. Good #7, but anything else I don’t know…
His career arc and overall game are similar to Luke Schenn's....and he only just turned 27. I think there's a good chance that he carves out a career as a bottom pair guy that is useful on the PK and really unpleasant go against in the corners. The penalty killing was probably the biggest reason he stuck this year. At worst, he's a valuable asset to have for load managing purposes, at best, he's a guy that is going to work his way into the lineup and find a way to stay there. Have to assume Adam Foote has played a significant role in his development and will continue to do so.

he was developing this year. his number one weakness is taking himself out of position to make a hit. doing that in a playoff game to cause a goal after sitting for so long makes me wonder if he might have peaked. all he had to do was not do that.

it's also fortunate because the canucks don't have a 1st in the upcoming draft

We'd likely be moving our 2025 in that scenario not this year's pick.

Agreed.

I had originally wanted to bring Lafferty back but he's been a complete no show for months now. If we consider it, definitely not anything more than what he currently makes.

Myers, I'm completely fine with at anything around 3M or less. He's been a completely different player this season.

Necas is an RFA, though. Doesn't really make sense, unless they're planning on trading him - at which point they should be able to get a hefty return.

Pesce is a UFA, and will likely be in hot demand.

I think Pesce is going to get paid more than he's worth given his step back this season and injury in the playoffs. He has a lot of miles on his body despite only being 29.

Weird how Necas keeps being called a center. Not sure how many coaches would trust him as a center

There are several players like this around the league and yeah, it's weird.

Some guys just get labelled as a C when they're drafted and 5 years into their NHL career despite basically never playing C they're still called that everywhere on the web and fans who don't watch games just assume it's correct.

It seems like it's being telegraphed that they're not going to qualify Necas?

But yeah, surely someone would trade for him?

Friedman said he turned down a 5x5-ish deal from Carolina already.

I really want Buchnevich on Petey's line next season. If Hronek's ask is too high, would it be a good idea to trade him for Buch straight up? Blues apparently want to dump Faulk, if they are able to do that, I'd bet they would be interested in Hronek.

Wouldn't that makes Necas a UFA? How does that make sense for the Canes, losing a young, productive forward for nothing?
