I would be very curious to see if anyone can point to me how many goalies with less than 100 NHL games ended up getting a similar percentage of the cap and term on their first “real” contract.

Markstrom got $3.67m x 3 almost a full season ahead of time with ~80 nhl games played.

Cap was $73m so over $4m with inflation plus another million for pedigree and teams desperation.

We should take a chance and commit to Demko long term. He's the real deal and they're busy stunting the development of Dipietro so it's not like we'll have another option.

Nope. He was great for us; showed up halfways through a disasterous season and played 4 games above .500 and was IMHO at least the second half MVP for the team (Keenan picked Brian Noonan who played 8 more NHL games after that...). Keenan didn't like small goalies so off he went... to his relief I'm sure. I'm betting he makes the HHOF someday...

Noonan was Keenans boy. He brought Noonan everywhere he went.
