Warning System:
When a rule is violated a warning may be issued. Users can only view their own warnings. Standard warnings expire between 45 and 90 days time. There are 3 Levels of punishment that incrementally disable user functionality. Privileges are restored as points expire. Moderators may issue warnings for zero points which serve as reminders to adhere to the rules.
Level 1 (10 points) = The following are disabled: search, poll posting, attachments, email to a friend, profile editing, invisibility, signature, username changes, sportsbook privileges, post editing and loss of "Likes" use. PM's reduced to one recipient.
Level 2 (15 points) = Same as Level 1 + loss of ability to start new threads.
Banned (20 points) = You will not be able to use your account to post until the oldest warning expires and brings you under 20 points. If you are given 20 points all at once your account will be under review. Attempts to register new accounts while under a temporary ban may result in additional warnings. Serious or chronic offenses may result in 20 points.
Bans are incremental. The first ban is 90 days (maximum). If you are banned a second time it is for 180 days. A 3rd ban is indefinite.

I've maintained that a big part of why Baertschi getting banished is stupid is because of the possibility of using him on a 3rd scoring line with Miller as centre.

I'd say the Canucks need to try it out because then you go after cheap effective wingers that can fit into that mold instead of trying to find a new third line centre to replace Sutter.

Wingers that could fit this mold (looking at capfriendly as UFAs quickly) that likely don't get huge pay days: Iafallo, Sheary, Armia, Gusev, Hinostroza

Kahun would work as well (if the Oilers don't retain him since he's RFA)

I'd also look into trading Virtanen for some sort of player back that would fit this mold better. Suddenly you have a strong top 9 and can shelter your bad 4th line.

Taking nothing away from the Canucks two wins, but the Leafs just completed a schedule of four games in six nights. We're probably lucky we didn't catch them earlier in their road-trip like the Oilers did.
Meh. I think the tired excuse is offset by the Canucks missing their top player in both games.
I’m not reading much into a two game series but I think the Leafs are getting overrated because they play in a terrible division with poor defenses on every team.

Do not agree North is terrible division. I think it is the second best. Other than Ottawa all team are playoff calibre with one good team. The regular Canuck division is much weaker with California teams.

Agree to disagree. I think the Leafs and Jets are the only playoff teams in a normal year. Edmonton is on the bubble. Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver, and Ottawa all miss.
There’s not one team in the North that has a strong defense. It’s definitely an entertaining division though!

Leafs and Jets are prime choke candidates. You cannot expect to win a series with defenses like that. At least Hellebuyck can steal you a couple, can FA?

This all-Canadian division is a lot tougher than the old Pacific Division--period. I mean have you watched the Ducks, Kings, Sharks and Coyotes recently? They're flat-out 'terrible' teams who are all headed for lottery land.

The only team in the Canadian Division that might be worse than those sad-sack Sunbelt teams is Ottawa. And even that's debatable.

Kings have been better than the Canucks this year and they have to play Blues/Avs/Vegas 24 times. Doesn’t even factor into Wild’s much improved goaltending and adding a high end winger.

And the fact that we have one fewer team to beat out for a playoff spot in the Canadian division.

I didn't see this points system before. How do I see how many points I have against me? I lost my like function, so I assume I have some of these points. Trolling is very subjective. Was never my intention to troll.
I just use the big likes now and they seem to work better than actually liking a post anyways. Some posters, like @WTG , live for them too

There was a great quote about one of the superbowl championship teams, where the coach talked about how it is like walking on a 2by4.

Place the 2by4 on the ground, and people can walk along it effortlessly without stumbling.

Place the 2by4 between two buildings a thousand feet above the ground, and see who can make it without stumbling.

Pressure. Expectations. Consequences.

They matter.

nice analogy, but it will be far windier a thousand feet above the ground, and thus far more likely that you will lose balance due to strong winds and be thrown to your death. as well, a 2by4 on the ground doesn't need to support you as your supported by the earth. on the other hand, a 2by4 a thousand feet above the ground may not support you at all, depending on the length of the 2by4 and your mass, so again, you are far more likely to fall to your death because of this.

I like Alex Iafallo, he would look good in our bottom 6.
