Vintage Pettersson tonight, making great plays all over the ice.

Beyond that OEL stepped up & had a monster game, nice play getting the quick shot off on the PP goal & what a pass on Pettersson's goal.

And of course Demko was a brick wall, but we're kinda used to that by now. Fun win.

Nice to see EP with a great game.

Question remains whether mgmt and coaches view him as a C, W or bit of both.

Likely similar to Miller where he may not be C full time.

Pettersson
1st 37GP - 6G 11A 17PTS (13G 24A 37PTS pace over 82GP)
Last 32GP - 18G 18A 36PTS (46G 46A 92PTS)

OEL
1st 34GP - 2G 4A 6PTS (5G 10A 15PTS)
Last 34GP - 2G 15A 17PTS (5G 36A 41PTS)

That’s what happens when you miss training camp (Pettersson).

Vegas has enough good players that they will be fine for the next few years, especially if Eichel is back to being a legit 1C. People have been trying to throw dirt on them since Day 1 and they've kept winning. They do make some extremely questionable moves, though.. so if they make some big changes I'm not convinced they will be the correct ones. They were awful last night, though.

As for the Canucks last night.. they've had so many wins this year where it's been "yeah they got the win, but Demko.." so it was nice to just see a very good performance that resulted in a fairly easy win. EP looked great and others like OEL/Pearson played very well.

He's taken some heat this year and I'll never understand why management targeted a depth PP specialist in training camp vs a depth PK guy.. but I've kind of liked Chiasson the last few games. He's had his legs moving a bit more than earlier this year and has been rewarded with some recent points. I'm hoping that he's one of the guys they upgrade this off-season with a faster/younger player, so if this is the last time I mention Chiasson in a post then at least I said something nice about him this year.

Figures the one game I completely miss they shitmix the Golden Knights. Awesome to see. Great to see Petey with the 4 point night.

If we can’t get into the playoffs, would sure love to ruin Vegas’ post season hopes.

I just wanna add that, VGK's shining golden helmets look ridiculous...

OEL has looked worse defensively during that same stretch.

The hope is he ends up putting it together next year so that you get the latter’s point production with the early season defensive metrics.

I’ll second that. I don’t like the Silver helmet look the Kings (and the Henderson Silver Nights) have done either. It all looks extremely tacky. I think they’ll be looked back on with the same lens that some of the abominable 90s hockey jerseys are (LA Kings deck of cards, NYI fish sticks, Anaheim flying Duck, etc)

why can't they just stick with the classics? they'd look great, VGK is one of the teams where I actually liked the jersey color scheme.

instead they put on those helmets and look like a bunch of dildos.

He’s also been anchored to Myers. Amazing how different of a player he looks like when he’s not paired with him.

Looks like this our chance to dump OEL. Sit Hughes out for rest of the season and just feed OEL the rest of the season and see if anyone bites.

And maybe see if whoever wins Bedard is willing to do bedard for ep and hope we don’t end up losing the trade like forsberg for lindros lol

Everyone looks worse with Myers. It should be a priority to get rid of Myers so we stop seeing him make a mistake every single shift and bring every single d partner down.

OEL was still better in the first 34GP than the last 34GP, though, IMO.
Nah. Dicki has been a total anchor this season weighing down everyone he plays with.
Shocking that he's been worse than Chiasson this season given how hopeless the latter looked.

@Johnny Canucker How about that Thatcher Demko?
If you are referring to the Thatcher Demko thats

not top 10 in save percentage
not top 10 in goals against average
not top 10 in shutouts

then yes, its the same guy.

you think I hate Demko, but I dont. I am just stating the fact hes not a top 5 NHL goalie. thats it. he is not.
