Chatfield here. Think he plays the right style of game where he'll be a solid AHL defenseman and maybe have a cup of coffee in the NHL. McEneny, DiPietro and Palmu would be my next picks. MacEwan, Molino and Pedan to round out the top-20.

Voted Molino here just because i think he could contribute next season in a 3rd line type of role (not start of the season but as an injury replacement/2nd half/post deadline).

Just wondering if there was a runoff for Brisebois (3 votes or fewer), why hasn't there been one for Boeser (final result was 80 vs 77).

He explained it in the next thread. 3rd place barely got any votes so it basically already was a head to head and a run off would have been pointless since like 8 people voted for someone other than Boeser or Pettersson.

For the 12 you had Brisebois and subban, but also more people (40) voted for someone other than those two than did Brisebois (38) or subban (35) so the run off has value.

I like the way op is running this. Good job so far and thanks for the effort.

Good to know tho i actually voted Boeser too...

Didn't vote in the Brisebois/Subban threads since i didn't even logon those few days (or the entire weekend basically). Guess my vote might have actually got rid of the runoff (i would've voted Brisebois and i did say that in the prospect votes before but didn't have time to login to vote).

MacEwen seems to have a lot of upside - or maybe he is just a "do-it-yourselfer" that has difficulty incorporating teammates (like Virtanen) - seems like the best choice here.

Voted for Mikey the goalie. Think he'll be a stud winning back to back Memorial Cups. ;)

The biggest problem is age/level of competition. That's the main reason i haven't voted for him yet since if you're basing your analysis on last year, its really men vs boys. We've seen a lot of players look great during their overage year then fail to even make a AHL team the next season.

I think MacEwen is a good signing but my expectation for him is still pretty low until i actually see him vs older competition. At this point, my expectation for him is likely AHL 4th line next season and his ceiling is probably a NHL 4th liner. There are still some prospects who i think have middle 6 ceilings so i'm voting for them first. I.e. Molino already made his NHL debut and likely would play a bigger role in Utica next season (a role that could very well be MacEwen's ceiling). DiPietro is a recent 3rd round pick who's an interesting prospect (tho due to his size i'm not sure how much upside he really has, would be interesting to keep an eye on... i don't think there are any goalies in the NHL right now < 6'2, only reason i'm not voting for him).

macewen might improve a ton and crush the ahl or he might just be a 20 year old helicopter kicking children for style points because he's a giant monster of a human
