One defenseman in the top-11?

I am still high on Subban, voted for him again. He is the only outside of the top-8 who has a chance at playing NHL hockey this year.

Clock is ticking with Subban. He needs to get a chance in the NHL this season and show that he can contribute. Terrific offensive skill in the AHL.

Brisebois seems to be trending fairly well for a third round pick. But he is an unspectacular defenceman from the Q who has yet to be tested against pros.

MacEwan has intriguing size and skills and is on a sharp upward trajectory. But how much of his success is a product of Abramov, one of the most dominant offensive forces in the QMJHL.

Went with Subban. Add McEneny.

at this point in the poll, its unlikely any of them will become nhl players

Dipietro, MacEwen, Subban, maybe Chatfield all have NHL qualities that could project to playing time down the road. I just don't see any aspect of Brisebois' game that translates to an NHL player. Not great at D, not great at offense, skates around fast, basically a Matt Bartkowski type at best.

By the way did we ever hear why Will Lockwood wasn't skating at dev camp?

He had shoulder surgery this summer, was still here, but didn't do any camp stuff

Sucks, would have been nice to see him on the ice

Went with Brisebois, but I also thought about Chatfield, Dipietro, MacEwan, and Subban. Their order doesn't matter

EDIT: Or Rathbone, but I have never even seen anything about him outside of dev camp, but he showed some nice skills

I voted Subban, if only because the guy is right on the brink of being an actual call-up option for us. For me it was between him, MacEwan, and Chatfield. That may as well be my order moving forward.

Subban should have been in the top-10, he's accomplished more already than most of these guys ever will. Shiny new toy syndrome has driven the last three picks.

Dipetro again. Again this is a super easy choice. Subban is bordering on a no hoper project. DiPietro is the only player on this list with the potential to be an impact player. The rest aspire to journeyman status.

More in what regard though? Are we voting for best AHL prospect?

yep ... the constant argument that is never resolved ...

do we vote on

1 - who closest to NHL ready

2 - who has the highest ceiling

3 - who is safest to make to the NHL even if it take 25 years.

There is no consensus on what is the choice. But a ton of posters will have fits over it not based on their preference.

And ... to just to add chaos theory to the mix ... I would rather have Palmu than Suban .... and Suban should be converted to forward. And I know there are 2 b's in suban but bloody autocorrect keeps changing it.

Breisbois has the potential to be a decent bottom pairing NHL defender while Subban hasn't been able to improve on his defensive play enough to be an NHL defender at his size

This is how I view it:

Which player will have the greatest impact in the NHL?
Which player has the highest trade value?

which one would you trade for the other one?

thats it. thats the only reasonable thing to rate. everything else is a horrible metric. your final list should be one where you will always trade 10 for 9, 9 for 8, 8 for 7 etc...
