Liked Bishop too but Geekie’s emergence means Bishop is our de facto 6C right now (since if anyone were to get hurt Martinook would probably just move over). That’s without Necas moving to C yet, without Suzuki or Jarvis. Didn’t really have anywhere to go but down on the depth chart.

Could be an NHL 4C. Wish him luck!

Aw. I liked Bishop. Oh well.

Same here....seems like we're hoping for some of our more recent draft picks to step up sooner rather than later. Bishop was a solid call up guy.....perhaps they are assuming that guys like Cotton and/or Lorentz will fill that void.

Lajoie's a good pickup for the taxi squad if Forsling makes it on the Panthers' main roster. Always thought that Bishop was the kind of guy that could make the NHL as a 4C on a bad team, AKA. Ottawa's current situation, so I'm happy for him that he gets his first legitimate NHL opportunity.

Lajoie's a good pickup for the taxi squad if Forsling makes it on the Panthers' main roster. Always thought that Bishop was the kind of guy that could make the NHL as a 4C on a bad team, AKA. Ottawa's current situation, so I'm happy for him that he gets his first legitimate NHL opportunity.

This is pretty much my feeling. Perhaps he can carve out a role in Ottawa while they're still developing some of the guys younger than Bishop. But I think he's more like a Patrick Brown type that is good for a call up that won't kill you, but not an NHL regular. We'll see how Lajoie's role ends up here.

Bishop was one of Brindys guys IIRC. Perhaps the weirdest first goal ever. Hoping he finds a niche in Ottawa.

I also liked Bishop as an AHL / NHL emergency call-up. But given the type player he is, I'm kinda surprised he didn't end up starting for the NYR (McKegg / Gauthier call back).

Except he's not on the taxi squad. As of now, he's w/the Wolves.
