this team is so dogshit offensively - only time they generate anything is off the rush.

They are so spread apart in the ozone when they get access - every single player is at each corner of the ice. Just an awful offensive scheme.

It's the way we play D. Since 2018 we've been playing this dumb combination of Bylsma's stretch pass one guy blows the zone breakouts plus Mike Johnston's super passive low in the zone protect the house defense. We always get the puck near our own net, and have no options except to jam the puck up the boards to a guy who either has no speed or is completely alone.

We never have the puck with speed in the neutral zone unless our opponents make a dumb mistake with the puck. The fact we generate any offense at all is pretty amazing cause our whole system is set up to prevent it from happening.
