Brodie on the cover, I'm calling it! He's going to break 60 points this year and get all kinds of media as the next young rising star dman.

Uhhh... I thought Iggy was on the 2003 cover and Phaneuf on the 2009?

Would be great to see Giordano on it, but I just don't see it. Iggy was one of the top players in 2003, so that's one reason why he made it. Surprisingly, I can't believe Crosby hasn't made it on one.

EA has to pay the guy who makes the cover. I'm pretty sure throwing Crosby on there would cost them a fortune.

From my understanding, Crosby doesn't want to be on cover of any game because of superstition.

You heard it here first folks! It's been 14 years since a Flame has graced the cover and I think Gio can win the votes! He's in that echelon of talent now.

But more seriously, there's plenty of other better players.

Iginla was on the cover in 2003. Your math is weird, since NHL 16 and NHL 2003 fall 13 years apart. 2003 was released in 2002. 16 will be released next year, in 2015. That’s, er, cheating.

what are you talking about Jordano is 3rd in league scoring. As a defenseman! He's the new Bobby Orr, except better. Oh and something something advance stats prove he is the best defenseman in the history of the NHL. :sarcasm:

Yeah, but you're forgetting the lockout year!

I'm not so sure. He's not as marketable a player as recent cover athletes. He plays in Calgary (though that didn't stop Iginla or Phaneuf), he's an undrafted player that came out of nowhere, he keeps a low profile (no twitter) so he's not as willing to engage fans on social media.

Never understood why they don't use three players, like they used to with FIFA games. Why not honour the best defenseman, forward and goalie all at the same time. And make sure the fans have input too.

I would much prefer the two top players from the Stanley Cup going on the cover. My idea comes from the Madden10 game case.

So in the 2014 SCF's, I'd probably have Lundqvist and Doughty on the cover.

Giordano and Brodie are studs, these guys run through some impressive stats regarding both that I didm't know.

One of Seguin/ benn will take it.

If Giordano keeps up anything close to a point per game pace he will be a shoe in, IMO. Not only is it a rarity in the modern NHL, Gio is doing it in a big Canadian market.

The way he gets on the cover is if he is voted in. Unless he can beat other big names, I doubt it. Not that the voting system in place is very good.
