Keep in mind this list is from before the prospects tourney and already there are many things people would change.

Michael Ferland should be about 5-10 spots higher (depending on how much you value the prospect tourney). Good lord did he ever dominate. Big, fast, physical, and soft hands in tight. Very, very consistent over four games. I don't think many people expected this kind of performance out of him

I don't think any other prospects dominated/faltered so bad that they deserve to move up/down more than a spot or two.

Ortio, Ferland, Granlund, Ramage, Poirer and Roy could climb, whereas Knight, Hanowski, Brossoit and Kanzig could fall after the tourny

Kanzig? Really? I thought he looked pretty good.

Yeah he wasn't bad. I thought he was a little raw, but there was some things I really liked in his game, especially his ability to clear the front of the crease. His offensive side needs a lot of work, but he certainly looks like he's trying. His foot speed wasn't as bad as I thought. I might be a little bias towards offense perhaps. He was very good defensively.

Comparing him to Wotherspoon or Roy, however, you can see where his offensive game is lacks.

Immediately I would have Poirer ahead of Knight. In fact, I think Poirer was better than Monahan and could be a dark horse to make the team come training camp

Really I'd say Wotherspoon was one of the biggest disappointments from the tournament, offensively at least. I agree that Roy was excellent in that category, though.

Wotherspoon's skills was subtle. He was poised and had soft hands and great passing. He's more of a playmaking offensive defensemen who can see the play. Roy was better at getting in shooting positions IMO.

Ferland should be around 15, Granlund around 10, and Poirier definitely higher than Knight. Poirier being there is not just because of the tourny, its because he has legit top 6 upside.

Lastly I'd move Ortio up to about 16.

I still think Elson should be on the list then a guy like Harrison he had a very good camp, but Elson's had 2 very good camps and a good tourney he is are most underrated prospect.

I 100% agree. Coming from Red Deer as a leader and being under the tutelage of Brent Sutter, I believe Elson will play in the NHL soon and will be one of those "glue" guys on the 3rd or 4th line.

I don't think a 3 game tournament and 1 game against inferior competition is going to change my mind on anyone. However I still think Ortio is way to low and I still think Knight and Wotherspoon are to high.

Now that we're 10 games into the season, and all the minor leagues have started, do you guys think these rankings hold?

Pretty well actually. Only major changes I'd make are Monahan over Bärtschi and move Poirier just behind Gillies (he's dragging the Remparts behind him). Other guys have been good so far but need more games to prove themselves (Hanowski).

Yeah I agree. I think our community really know their prospects.

I'm not sure if Colbourn would've made the list had he been here when it started?
