Either way, I imagine the list of Norris winners in their second NHL season is pretty short.

It is not greed when it is deserved and within the rules. In real life I would agree with you when people that are greedy will mean less for many others, but in the case of professional sports the kid deserves as much as anyone since he is clearly one of the best players in the entire league. If going long term he deserves minimum $10 x 8 years which is what Eichel got a few years ago. He is better than Eichel.
