One of the giants of this draft, Elmer Söderblom is a forward measuring in at 6'7, 216 lbs who has great hands but has pretty modest production to date and is clearly a bit of a project. Had 3 points in 5 games at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup and was ranked #55 among EU skaters on NHL Central Scouting's mid-term rankings.

Discovering him at the u18. Interesting unique combo of size and abilities. It's not often you'll see a guy his size skating that well. If he keeps getting stronger he could become a very special and useful player on your nhl roster.

Man what a year for Soderblom so far... 2 Even Strength Assists and was +3 today in a 5-2 Win.

Now has 10 Goals 7 Assists in his 1st 14 Games... He now has the same amount of points that he had in 44 regular season games last year

Elmer is now up to 26 points in 18 games for Frolunda J20. Straight up beasting it this season after looking extremely impressive at the Traverse City Prospects Tournament. Any chance he gets a promotion similar to what Henriksson just got? They produced at a similar rate this season.

I have no idea what to think of this guy. Hes absolutely destroying juniors and he looked way better than a 159th pick in the most recent draft at the prospect tourney/development camp. I always came away noticing him in those games and now his numbers seem ridiculous for where he ws picked.

Its about time they got him in a better league to see where he actually stands against some decent competition

Having a guy who’s 6’7 and 230pds at the age of 18 is a scary thought. He could be the biggest guy in the NHL (Byfuglien size) and we’ve seen how near impossible it can be to move him. Would terrify the other team, especially since he looks to have some real skills as well

Yesterday's performance perfectly illustrates Elmer's performance this year. Scored 3 times and assisted 2 times in a 7-3 victory for Frolunda. He is so much fun to watch.

This kid is a freak, absolutely dominates the U20's. Almost a 2.0PPG and scoring almost a goal every game. Leads the league in terms of points by a wide margin of 10. A 200cm, 103kg machine who just destroys everything in its path. Would have loved to see him playing for Sweden in the WJC-20 but he is getting experience playing for Frolunda's men team.
