C Tim Stützle (2020, 3rd, OTT)

Just to put some context to Stützles stats:

16yo seasons in the German youth league DNL:
Leon Draisaitl: 56 points in 35 games; Points/game = 1,60
Dominik Bokk: 71 points in 41 games; Points/game = 1,73
Tim Stützle: 55 points in 20 games; Points/game = 2,75

I don´t know anything about the strenghts of their linemates. But these numbers should give you an idea, how special his season is so far.

They even changed the maximum age from 19 to 20 this season. Pretty sick to lead the scoring race as a 16yo by such a large margin.

From what I have seen in the few youtube videos, he has a great shot and very good agility.

If he keeps scoring like that, he goes Top10 in 2020 imo.

Does anyone know what his plans are for next season?

Wow, that post puts things in perspective for me, certainly a prospect to watch. I love non-traditional countries getting better and better prospects.

I found a couple of complete Re-live matches from his team Jungadler Mannheim at sportdeutschland.tv. The commentator seems to be pretty damn young, but he does a very good job.

His shot looks absolutely automatic and if I compare him to Bokk, I think Stützle appears to have a little more "drive".

I think sportdeutschland.tv streams are always free. I don't know that for sure, but I have not yet encountered one that wasn't, and I have watched quite a few.

Also thank you very much, for the list of the videos and the times of his goals, this will make my project to compile a sort of highlight video of Stützle much easier.
Right now I don't have the time, but I hope to get to it in December, at latest over the holidays.

That was the plan last I heard. He is supposed to play for the Musketeers next season and then move to UNH the season after.
Of course things can still change. Some CHL team will probably take a swing at him in the Import Draft next year.
And then when he gets drafted by an NHL team in 2020 things could also change.
But for now the word is that he wants to go the college route.

Good plays at:
  • 0:06:42 (good backchecking, stickwork and stickhandling)
  • 0:24:50 (Very calm on the PK! Watch it for a minute, pretty damn good!)
  • 0:44:51 (WOW at that move!)
  • 0:50:07 (sooo good)
  • 0:52:22 (always moving his feet)
  • 0:53:07 (watch him find the open space and good puck control with his skates)
  • 0:53:30 (active stick)
  • 1:13:28 (nice litte play & vision)
  • 1:46:37 (zone entry with speed and cutting inside)

Bad play:
2:05:35 (turnover with an empty net)

(1:06:47 Mannheim player crosschecking his teammate lol)

Things I noticed:
  • very composed with the puck
  • backchecks all the time
  • wins a lot of puck battles
  • wins most faceoffs cleanly
  • plays a lot on the PK
  • excellent vision
  • terrific skater, can really skate circles around you

Honestly, Stützle looks much better than Dominik Bokk (and I love Bokk!) at the same age. He is a lot more engaged in the game.

Looks like he is back. 1g 1a in yesterdays match vs. Norway U20.

I am honestly pretty excited about Stützle. Such a dynamic player, you just rarely see that in Germany.

I’m always looking forward to his ascent up the rankings next year. Too bad Germany is in the lower division otherwise he would be getting more exposure at WJC. I’m a giant Bokk fan and his potential is very high but I’m even more excited for Tim.
