I had never heard of him before the CHL Import Draft but he looks like a good one. He's centering Quebec's first line and he's still 16. Great vision and passing ability. Quebec's head scout compared him to Jonathan Huberdeau (he was head scout for Saint John when Huberdeau was playing there).

Little update. He is now up to 23 points in 27 games for the Remparts and might represent Switzerland at the U20 as he was invited to their camp. He and Nando Eggenberger both could potentially be top 10 picks for the 2018 draft, which is very interesting considering they are both from Switzerland. I'm keeping an eye on defenseman Nico Gross too.

Would be cool to see something of a golden Swiss generation. Probably a long ways off from that but between Malgin, Fiala, Hischier, Kurashev and Eggenberger - seems like some high-end forward talents on the verge of success.

Although there was a wave a few years back that has mostly disappointed at the NHL level, Josi aside. Niederreiter, Sbisa, Bartschi and Andrighetto have pretty much all had underwhelming careers compared to expectations.

35 points in 41 games, best +/- of his team.
Would have liked to see him at the WJC, got kicket out with the last cut.
He surely has 1st round potential if he keeps that up!

Update: 53 points in 63 games
4th among QMJHL rookies
1st among 2018 draftees in the league
Leading his team in points..

Haven't seen him play beside highlights, but he seems to continue his impressive year.

He's also 1st among 2018 draftees in the whole CHL.

Quebec did a skills contest last week end and he had a shot at 98 MPH. Impressive for a 17 yo who who doesn't look that strong physically. I believe his shot will only get better as he gains strength.

Nice article about him on the IIHF Website.

“Even though he just turned 17, I gave him first line duties right away,” says Boucher. “I also put him on the power-play and gave him a ton of responsibility early on.”

Kurashev responded by finishing fifth amongst rookies in scoring – delivering a team-high 54 points in 65 regular season games. He would add another three points in four playoff games as Quebec was swept in the opening round by Gatineau.

That total also made him the highest scorer amongst 2018 draft eligible players.

One goal for him in Switzerland's 4-0 win against Latvia. I think he looked fine against a poor team, would love to see what he can do tomorrow against a real team.

Any chance he gets a bump because of the lack of quality centers available in this draft? Maybe if he shows well at the WJC?

Haven't seen him this year to be honest.
28 points in 29 games are alright, was hoping he'd score slightly more than 1.0 PPG.
Still should be at least a mid 2nd rounder, his wrister is Kucherov like..
