Good lord, let him grow a bit before of starting the engines to the hype machine. Though it's noticeable that 1994-born player is first line center of 93 national team

pretty shameless when a hockeysfuture staff guy puts down someone for hyping a 94 born, this is a prospect board you know...im a scout for a QMJHL team and i find nothing wrong with 94s...actually ill be scouting them next year for my league.

Nobody was hyping him actually. And I think a special thread for a 15 y.o. is too much.

Why? He was a top prospect before his career was ended in the car accident. Guy is lucky to be alive and actually returned to a KHL career.
Well, he wasn't an "Ovechkin-like" prospect.

As for why not, I think Angels for Everyone meant his conditioning issues.

I actually would not mind hearing more about him - team that he plays for; positions, etc.

CSKA, a forward.

I must say that his brother(not Igor, they are not related) was a very promising prospect but then dissapeared. And there were strong rumours about his age, that he was actually older than listed.

Mikhail however seems to be a really talented guy regardless.

Scouting is one thing, collecting own opinions is one thing, hyping him and such things is a whole another thing that is not my job of being a member of HF.
But since people hunts for views, he's a very talented centerforward with excellent reading of the game who plays for CSKA and in National team plays first line with players older than him for one year.

I would add that he is pretty big kid. 6'1 or 6'2 and 180 lbs. Not skinny.

Ummm.. it seems the original poster asked a question about a prospect, not hyping him. Let's remember that a 2012 in the NHL is potentially 2010-11 CHL Import, so it's not that far off. I work with a scouting site and i follow mostly the Q draftees, so it's always nice to hear people's perspectives on players. thanks to everyone for their great work.

point is, this is a prospect board, this years draft is 91 born players, that is only 3 years away for 94s, you work for hockeysFUTURE and people want to hear about it, so i was saying do not become one of those guys that comes onto a thread that is clearly labled as to what it pertains and make a smart comment about what the person is asking or saying. I do not see why you would tell him to cool his engins before hyping him, all he said was that he heard great things about him.

Now for a scouting report on him here is what i saw when i watched him play a very good skater, very shifty on his skates, excellent speed, good acceleration and uses different gears on the ice; a very tricky puckhandler he seems to have the puck on a string, was walking around opponents out there; he was strong on the puck, when challenged he held onto the puck; great vision and playmaking on the ice, creates alot of offense from passing in the offensive zone, he is always in control of the play out there and when he is not in control the puck seems to follow him around the ice; he has an excellent wrist shot as well; his only downfall was that he took too long sometimes to make up his mind on what he was doing, he was hesitating too long out there...in the 5 games he had 5 goals, 6 assists for 11 points.

here is some more information:

the Nail Yakupov mentioned is one of the top russians for 2012 as well. Nail is a late born 93. The scary thing is I think Nail is better than Mikhail Grigorenko, Nail is in my opinion one of the top players i have scouted in all of my years, he has great speed excellent hockey sense, super exciting to watch, amazing puck handling, great vision and shooting skills, creates a great amount of offense everytime he is on the ice, strong on the puck, just amazing to watch in the offensive end.

some other top russians for 2012 are:

Konstantin Shabunov - he is exciting to watch, great speed, agility, great puckhandler, has a very hard slap shot, he is the typical stero type russian player.

Sergei Kuptsov - Great acceleration, uses his speed and different gears; he goes to the net, has a very good hard shot, he has excellent puck protection, he is a very big body, uses his size, crashes the net, works great along the boards, the puck seems to follow him on the ice, powers his way on the ice, a shoot first pass 2nd style of player. A great young power forward.

Leonid Ovechkin - excellent speed on the ice, goes to the net, really did not stand out in the games i saw him though, never touched the puck much, and when he did, he just made a dump in or passed it in open ice, never created anything in the few games.

here are some points:

This is reasonable and I appreciate your opinion. I had mine, though. I think that starting talking publicly (eng) about 94-95 players is kind of not rightful. They are at an age in which hockey must be self-entartaining and growing opportunity. That said, my opinion might be a bit redicolous in 2009, but I still think like this.

Seen the author? ;)

Nail Yakupov

Shortening down things, I like a lot Sergei Shmelev for 2011

As the originator of this thread thanks to everyone for their comments and to scoutman - keep up the great work - your comments are greatly appreciated.

By no means was there any intent to hype the prospect, merely requesting if anybody knew anything about the prospect. Cheers

well i am hyping him the guy is amazing right now, this is hockeys future we are talking about the future of hockey, do you know how dull this board would be if we only spoke about already drafted players and the up and coming draft...pffffft i would not be on here at all then.
