Looks to be a top prospect from the WHL in 2018.

Crazy numbers before coming to the dub, decent rookie season, anyone have more info on him?

Great skater with a good motor who I think will be at least ppg in his draft year. Only forward in the dub next year I think has a great chance of being a 1st rounder. With Woo on his team as well scouts will definitely make it a point to watch the Warriors

Led the YOG Canadian team in scoring. He's really talented and checks all the boxes offensively. Probably the best forward out of the WHL for next draft. He could be Robby Fabbri type of sleeper IMO, mid 1st that has a lot of potential.

Whats going on with him this year, less than .5 ppg is not what you'd expect for a player with his talent. Can any close followers of the Dub can explain his struggles?

He's a great player whose buried a bit on a deep team. He gets a lot of bottom 6 minutes, very little PP time if any and a lot of PK time. Has a great motor and can create plays out of nothing sometimes but his linemates aren't the best so he is typically a one man show out there. He'll have a bigger role when the Warriors lose a lot of talent next year. Burke, Halbegewachs, Jeanot, Howden and Gregor will all be gone next year. Which is basically 4 of the top 6 spots on the team. The Warriors will be much weaker but he should see a massive increase in event strength and PP time. Good sleeper pick IMO because his lack of production is more tied into his low ice time and lack of linemates than low skill. I'd expect a big jump in production next year.

Spot on. Whatever team that recognizes how his numbers are not reflective of his ability and takes him sometime in the late second round will be in for a treat.

Good to know, will be an interesting player to watch over the next few years. It's funny to see the difference between NA and European hockey. In Europe good young talents like him would see some top pro division games in a limited role. Due of the strength of his team, Burzan is having a limited role even in junior.

Everything has to do with who you are playing with. It's simple. You play with talented players, your stat line shows it. You play a lot, and with talented players you are set. Look at all the players on Halifax. Put them on a team or line of low skill. Huge drop off in stats. Been this way forever.
If you play with pluggers that have high energy and no hands, you are destined to have no stats. Whether you play a ton or not, few can do things on their own. Very few.

Not always but typically. Playing time has a lot to do with it as well. You can be on a bad team but be playing 1st line mins and PP1 time and produce very well.

Quite shocked he went undrafted, strong skater with 2-way game like him are usually highly regarded by scouts. The stats aren't impressive, but he had little ice time/PP this season, wouldn't surprise me to see him explode offensively next season.

Burzan with a 4 goals + 1 assist game tonight (still a period to go) !

I like this guy post :sarcasm:

Just cleared 40 goals which is top-10 in the WHL.

Should be a dead lock to be selected this year. One of the top skaters in the league, producing at a high level, decent size (although he does look a bit smaller than listed on the ice), solid motor and three-zone game.

Will be curious to see where he goes. Is pretty clearly the top overage guy from the WHL after Leason and wouldn’t be shocked if he went as high as the 3rd round.

As an aside, this thread and every other online source lists Burzan as a C when he’s played exclusively on the wing for the past couple years.
