Daniel Agostino - Elite Prospects

Here's a game report from his performance on November 25th 2020.

Agostino is an electric agitator, who can spark offensive opportunities with a fruitful presence in high-danger/dirty areas and a steady competitive nature. The Canadian attacker seemed to bring a breath of fresh air to his team anytime he touched the ice, with high-tempo offences, a relentless presence along the boards and great positioning in dangerous areas. He showcased a very opportunistic, lively positioning, jumping on rushes, pressuring opponents and getting around the net in a very instinctive manner. Agostino thoroughly enjoyed playing in dirty areas, getting involved physically or throwing his body around the wall when needed. His surprising balance, above average quickness and excellent use of his stick leads to great puck battles along the boards, even with the best of defensemans. He seemed more of a disturber than a takeaway machine, though, slightly being refrained by his smaller frame. His speed is around average and that allows him to stay active through transition, but there’s room to grow before making the jump to the pro-level. Agostino didn’t display much poise, creativity nor elusiveness in his decision-making, neither did he showcase much ability to create for his teammates. He did, though, play a vital role as an offensive spark for his team. The left-handed forward got a few dangerous shots on net tonight, revealing a pretty quick release and above average finishing skills. Although I don’t see Agostino as a potential NHL draftee at the moment, I expect him to have an impactful junior career and make continuous stride with his development thanks to a predominant factor in his game : his competitiveness.
