He's been off to a good year offensively from what I can tell and have heard on the Sharks board.

I figured since he's playing a large role on a team stacked with some of the high profile prospects from a couple of other teams that there would be people outside of the Sharks fandom that are likely to have seen him in person over the course of this year and could give first-hand impressions and updates.

From HF's current page:
Talent Analysis

Chris Tierney is an intelligent hockey player; and a born winner. With an active stick and good skating, his defensive play predominately stands out; especially on the penalty kill. He plays this role for a very deep London team. Anywhere else, he might be known as a high-end playmaker given his skill set.

The excellent two-way centerman features solid puck skills, competitiveness, and hockey sense that when combined with his defensive reliability make him incredibly valuable. He has very good vision, and a knack for scoring big goals for his team. The way he integrates his team first style of play and is so heavily relied upon by his coach is reminiscent of a young Ryan Callahan without the vocal leadership qualities. Those are huge skates to fill, and Tierney has much to work on including improving his shot, but the potential is there for an NHL caliber difference maker.

A bit delayed on the announcement, but Chris was named Captain of the London Knights.

Congrats to him

A native of Keswick, Ont., he was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the second round, 55th over-all, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

He already has two OHL championships under his belt and was named the most improved Knight in each of the past two seasons. He has already played 269 regular-season and playoff games with the Knights.

Although it was a player vote, as always, if the team brass didn't like the results they certainly didn't have to endorse them. However, Knights’ head coach Dale Hunter was thrilled with the choice.

“He’s been a team leader here for years. He cares about his own game and the whole game and all the players,” Hunter said. “We need a leader, and he’s our captain.”
