Aapeli Räsänen has been considered for some time one of the best 1998 born prospects in Finland. The right handed center plays at the moment for Tappara U18, where he's been one of the team's most productive players this season. I was able to see him playing tonight, and have to say he was very impressive.

He scored three points (1+2) and showed many quality tools. He showed an excellent compete level, he was really strong on the puck and his puck skills were at a high-end level. Räsänen also showed great vision and made some really strong passing plays. And he's not a small player by any means at 6'1", 181 lbs. Räsänen is playing against players that are for the most part one or two years older than him.

I believe he will be an excellent forward by 2016, which is his draft year. The 2016 draft looks very good for Finland with some great prospects such as Patrik Laine, Räsänen, Jesse Puljujärvi, Olli Juolevi and many others.

'98 seems like a good batch of players for Tappara: Laine, Räsänen and also Otto Mäkinen are all highly skilled and have good size. Otto Mäkinen is playing in first line of Tappara A jr team.

Pretty good Ivan Hlinka tournament for him so far. Strong on the faceoff circle, good defensively and few nice assists

vs USA
