Buffalo Sabres 1970-72. Click on the youtube link and you go to a bunch of different movies of early Sabres games. The Aud only sat a little over 10,000 in 1970 but then they raised the roof to about 16,500. In the game against the Bruins you can sense the frenzy of the crowd - so much different than today. Hearing Ted Darling as the original voice of the Sabres is a real treat. What a pro! Enjoy.

A little known (to me) picture of Alexander the Great.

For all his legendary foolishness, he won four Stanley Cups with the Leafs, scoring the cup winning goal in one of them.

It was fun watching Eddie Shack play for the Sabres. Although he didn't stick around long -- he was traded for Rene Robert -- he really brought it and he was a good and fearsome competitor. His antics included many different star turns when being selected as a star of the game, including being brought out on a stretcher.

R.I.P. Eddie "The Entertainer" Shack.

Q: Who is the all time leading goalie (in goals against) in NHL All Star game history?

A: Former Rangers (and Bisons) Gilles Villemure with 0.68 GAA in 3 all star games.
