Buffalo says no because there not going for anything and are in rebuild mode. Kings say no because they think there giving it one more year for a cup. If the teams tragetory paths were swapped then maybe.

Think some of you guys are selling McCabe short here, he's a quality mid pairing guy. But LA doesn't have a use for him, and definitely not Girgensons, for one of their only useful young forwards.

Interesting. Most Sabres fans were saying this past season that they only legit top 4 guys they had were Risto and Scandella.

McCabe had a bad year, but hes young and could rebound if he gets his head out of the clouds. Hes not going to push for Dahlin or Scandellas spot, so hes expendable, but if he can come back with better leadership in the locker room he'd make a pretty good bottom pairing player.

Selling on McCabe is a bad idea considering how bad last year was. What you get for him isn't worth the risk of him having a come back year for someone else. Use him as part of a package for a better scoring winger, sure, but not as a throw in for futures or 3rd/4th line players.

Why?

How does this help LA?

Girgenson is a step down from Pearson and McCabe would be a 7th Dman at best for LA.

Edit: I could do this too...

To Buffalo:
D Forbort
C/RW Lewis

To LA:
RW Reinhart

Pearson is a mid 30s ES player. he isn't that special. His points total probably benefited by who he played with.,

McCabe definitely did not look like a top 4 guy last year. Anyone telling you otherwise is trying to sell you oceanfront property in Arizona. He was, however, playing injured last year and has looked the part of a solid #4 in the past. Whether he can bounce back to that is anyone's guess. He is still young, though.

Way to set the tone....

A simple no would’ve sufficed, and yes, it’s a bad deal for lak.

OK people the kings were the best defensive team in the nhl . The left side of there defense is forbort muzzin dion With brickly fattenberg and Martinez all capable of stepping in McCabe would not even make the king defense. Neither would Girgenson make the forward group. Pearson has score 40 points the last two year . La needs offense not to take some away The last thing la needs is another defenseman especially left handed

Whats a mid 30s ES player ?
Who says he is a special player ?
Who doesnt benefit by who he is playing with ?

This is a bad trade for a not so special player but still bad.

No need to label down a player because your team is involved. Something IMO you regularly do.
