I started typing thoughts but lets not get ahead of ourselves. The team is 4-1 and has the easiest remaining schedule after five weeks of play. Lots of variables from now until late December so we'll see what happens.

Looking a head, I don't think there's a game where the Bills can't win. Our schedule will stink when we lose the divisional tie breaker and become the first 15-1 team to not win the division.

PFF's draft profile on Zay was spot on with the weaknesses: PFF scouting report: Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina | College Football and NFL Draft | PFF

Zay is very big and strong, but he struggled to use those attributes. His ECU tape had him catching lots of 50/50 balls where he was just the stronger guy. What wasn't expected at all was the drops. Thus, you have a physical WR that struggles to separate from anyone, is among the league leaders in drops, and always lacked athleticism at the position... that's not going to do. I see why the Bills thought Zay would be a fit, but good on Beane for recouping something.
Beane's been shedding dead weight since he got here. Most of them dont become squat. Those Cordy Glenn and Marcel Dareus trades were works of art.

NFL Power Rankings, Week 6: 49ers hit top five; Bears plummet

RANK 10

BILLS (4-1)

Up 1

Previous rank: No. 11

The voracious Bills defense was at it again on Sunday in Nashville, pounding Marcus Mariota for four quarters in a 14-7 win over the Titans. Buffalo sacked the Tennessee starting quarterback five times, despite the return of Titans Pro Bowl left tackle Taylor Lewan from suspension. (The Bills weren't impressed.) Tennessee converted just four third downs in 14 attempts and managed just 252 total yards. This type of dominance is starting to become a weekly thing for the Bills under head coach Sean McDermott and defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier. Josh Allen escaped from concussion protocol and made enough plays while avoiding a killer turnover. Buffalo is built to win games 14-7. It's unlikely to be the last time.

Just get me to the playoffs, man. Anything can happen once you're in. Also, possible FAs will take notice, and perhaps sign here. We have a TON of cap space next year.

Get me in with this D healthy and then steady improvement on O that passes the eye test.

Singletary, another WR weapon, and Special Teams improvements will help as well.

Did I read Ben Watson is available ? Someone the Bills looked at in the offseason might be worth a look especially if Kroft gets shelved.

Bills All-22 Review: Jerry Hughes' impact beyond the box...

Through the first five weeks of the season, the Bills have effectively shocked the league — and perhaps even their fan base — by starting the year with a 4-1 record. The most recent victory, a 14-7 win over the Tennessee Titans, pushed their record on the road to 3-0.

The Bills will get a full week off for their bye before returning home as the heavy favorites against a winless Miami Dolphins team. First, what can we glean from the coaches’ film of the Bills’ win over the Titans?

Each week using the film, The Athletic will grade every individual Bills player based on how they performed in the last game. You can find the full explanation for the grades at the end.

As the contextualized companion to the grades, here are some of the biggest takeaways from Buffalo’s win over Tennessee.

1) Dion Dawkins has taken a massive step forward
2) Allen quiets his inner “Wyoming Josh”
3) Why Jerry Hughes has been so very good
4) The Quinton Spain problem continues
5) Darryl Johnson steps up in edge contain

Marcel Jaques/espn talking up the Von Miller Trade idea today. Sounded like he knew something, interesting. 10-10 ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques with Joe and Louie DiBiase
I would love that addition. We're pretty set at LB, but Miller is an exception. You take players of his calibre all day, every day even if they are 30 years old. He should still be productive for another 3 years at least.

The issue is the cost. He's 30 years old, so I cant see it being a crazy price. Maybe a 2nd round pick+ another good asset. I'd be hesitant to give up a 1st for a player his age.

Adding Miller would give us an elite LB crew to go with and elite secondary. You can also expect AT LEAST 10 sacks from him the next couple of years. f***, dont get me excited.

Miller-Edmunds-Milano is a hell of a trio for the next 3 years+.

I wonder if he would play DE for us or the Lorenzo Alexander blitz specialist SLB role. Fit would definitely be a concern, since his natural position is 3-4 OLB. McDermott has made it work with Lorenzo, though, so I'm sure he could find a way to get a lot out of Miller.

Yeah, he'd probably have to play DE then. Put a little damper on my excitement. Not sure how he'd translate to DE.

I have to imagine they'd see him as a DE, especially with Lorenzo still here. Can't be paying whatever draft pick and salary compensation for a premiere pass rusher and then putting him behind the line on half their plays. Not that I don't think they could make it work, just not a great allocation of resources.

If we’re trading for DL help, my vote is for Geno Atkins. Better fit and will probably come cheaper. A bit older than Von but probably has a couple good years left. Contract is a bit pricy though. Signed thru 2022.
