Girgensons is very clearly better right now. Asplund has the capacity to be a good player. He was on that path last season. Things went awry this year. Getting anything for him is a win because he is gone either way.

Odd stat, and possibly skewed by people who do the counting. Asplund was credited with 5 hits in his first game with Nashville, he only had 10 total in 27 games with the Sabres this season.
