This is because he plays on Randy Carlyle's Ducks. A team-based shot attempt metric with those forwards in front of him, and that coach being so bad he gets canned, is not a good way to analyze Brandon Montour's skill set.

Why is Montour having such a bad year?

If he is a solid top-4 RHD this is a great deal. Guhle is a low IQ bust and RHD are a premium you can only hope that 1st can turn into. But I don’t know Montour enough to judge.
