Hi All,
I published and posted this mid-summer and with the NHL season just a few days away, I am posting one more time for those that may not have been active on forum at that time.

Bryan Fogarty was a generational talent born a generation too soon...He was the Nordiques first round pick ahead of Joe Sakic in 1987...Here is my longform piece on his career which may be of interest to fans of the Avs franchise...feel free to share and/or comment.

All I remember was Mats Sundin once saying that Fogarty would show up to practice drunk or hungover and still be able to skate circles around everyone.

He had personnal problems , a lot of demons to deal with. It's a sad story from a guy with tremendous talent. Today's players can ask for help when they are in Fogarty's situation , we have to wonder if it would have been a different story in today's game . When you're coming out of junior and they say that you could be the next Bobby Orr , knowing what happend after , it's just sad.
