I like it. Crazy how time flies. When I was a kid I was given one of those big metal Boston Bruins 75th anniversary placard things that I still have hanging on the wall where I watch Bruins games.

Montreal got the draft and Allstar game during their 100th, Toronto didn't IIRC. Do the bruins?

I remember the 50th, my first year following the team, I was 7. Years if misery and cynicism have followed with brief glimpses of glory and greatness.

I’m going to start celebrating now. Their 100th season is right around the corner.

If anyone cares to know, there’s a nice treatment of the very early history of the Bruins by Stan Fishler in his book “Bobby Orr and the Big Bad Bruins.” The first half is a bio of Orr, and the second half of the book covers the early history of the Bruins.

Over the next couple of years we are going to re-learn names like Charles F. Adams; Art Ross; and Eddie Shore. The foundation of the team we know today.

I’m very excited to celebrate the very colorful history of this team.
