Phoenix (AP)-- Various reports have indicated that the Phoenix Coyotes have been shopping around 2 of their hottest commodities, Star Two Way Center Rod Brind'Amour and Top Defenceman Chris Phillips. Both names have been heard in packages to several potential deals. The following statement has been made by the Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Ryan Yessie. "Brindy and Phillips are two of our top players, we like having them as a part of the organization, but with the direction the franchise is going we might have to drop further down because we can jump back up into contention, and with that midset we are willing to move them before the season starts, however if the season begins with Brindy and Chris in our line-up we will probably keep them wit hthe team and see what direction the team goes in and keep a close eye on their performance and the price would probably go up Both players will be given every chance to excel in the franchise if a deal is not made by the start of the season. We're looking for a couple young players in return. I think it's clear that our franchise is centered around Phil Kessel, and dispite his recent fight with cancer, the reports from the doctors have sounded very possitive, and believe he will make a full recovery and our plans to bring him into the everyday roster beginning the 07-08 season are still fully in motion, so we are going to continue to build a strong supporting cast around him."
