Signing Panarin is a huge leap forward for NYR.

With that being said, will be interesting to see who LA gets in the upcoming draft. Laf/Raymond/Byfield would start to even things out.

Probably the Rangers but they're in a bit of an awkward spot. Panarin, Zibanejad, and Kreider are already firmly in their primes and the rest of the roster isnt there yet. Also, you can't count on Zibanejad and Panarin to repeat their years. Will be interesting to see if the team can develop a star in 3-5 years when they're in decline

They don't have to. They just need to come close, that isn't too much to ask.

This isn't a case of a team starting hot and then being carried by a single player in a a smoke and mirrors run by a squad that really played .500 level hockey for 3/4 of the season. They've been one of the better teams in the league over the last 2 months after being bottom of the barrel horrible to start.

Their underlying metrics are in the green since 2020 started and they're still the youngest team in the league+running Marc Staal out there.
