RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Brett Bellemore (BREHT BEHL-mohr) on a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay Bellemore $600,000 on the NHL level or $150,000 on the American Hockey League (AHL) level, with a guarantee of at least $250,000.

Good depth. I actually like him and he's the kind of D we need. Physical and such not.

Excellent example of a player embracing the style he needs to play in order to elevate his game. When he first went professional he was a very positional defender without a ton of jam to his game. As he developed, he realized that adding that dimension would make him a more attractive option.

Can't really complain about cheap depth signings that could come in and play minutes in a pinch. I like that we found out what he had at the NHL level as opposed to going with other options.
