It’s a Cleveland move for sure, but with MacInnis, Matteau, Sherwood, Dalpe all leaving, there’s also some need for guy(s) that can step in a bottom 6 role, if there’s a major injury crisis like in 19/20 season. Gaunce is a former 1st rounder and has played over 100 games in the NHL, so he can probably do that without looking too much out of place. Not that he should be the first call-up.
