BTW, he is losing a poll to Patrice Bergeron on the poll forum right now. Absolute nonsense. Just goes to show that people do not watch Anaheim play a whole lot

Not really surprising, HF has quite the hard on for Bergeron. Getzlaf will always be criminally underrated based on the market he played in, he's likely going to be close to a PPG after nearly 1000 games in one of the lower scoring eras of the NHL and nearly PPG in the playoffs too - not many players can boast that sort of record.

Heck, Getzlaf is probably above a point per game now if it wasn't for his awful 11-12 season.

People's memories on the main board are short lived. It was only two years ago people talked about Bergeron being done. He started the 16/17 season with just 5 points through the first 18 games, and 10 points through the first 34. If that streak was now, Getzlaf would run away with this poll.

Also, thanks for sharing your video!

Good video.

There are absolutely a lot of others that do what Getz does...meaning, they're good about not telegraphing the direction of their passes. That said, I think what makes Getz stand out from the crowd is his strength. His passes often come from awkward angles (tucking in to change angle or mislead, similar to how some shoot), but the speed of his passes is just very quick. Same as his shot, and when he takes body. Just super strong core.

Without a doubt that's bullshit. Bergeron has arguably been one of the most overrated players I have ever seen. Getzlaf is a great talent and his vision is insane, with a great shot as well.

Bergeron has had the luxury of playing on stacked teams for the most of his career and now that Marchand is primarily carrying the line.

As annoying as Getzlafs tantrums are he's still a great captain who stocks up for his teammates and tries to lead with example.

There isn't anyone in the NHL who isn't as overrated as Bergeron. Never has been ppg in his entire career while being on stacked teams.

(Also as in the entire NHL I'm talking about players not on the leafs, according to leafs fans, all their players are generational )
