So far this season there's been at least one positive appearance from some what expected performance level from the team and the guy is Brad Hunt. 31 year old defender has started the season red hot scoring 4+2 in 9 games played and by that he is leading scorer of the Wild. Is this one of those one time miracle starts or do we have a late blooming puck moving defender actually racking up some decent amount of points? I mean from what I saw last season he showed some glimpses that he can actually be effective with the puck and right now he has been one of the players that have brought Ws for the Wild with his production.

Your thoughts on Hunt?

I think Hunt has a pretty good track record as a powerplay specialist, so I don't think he's a flash in the pan or anything. Minnesota's 3rd pairing is just a really favorable spot for him: he can play relatively easy even strength minutes with powerplay time and not be a waste of a roster spot.

Him and Dumba on the powerplay together is especially disgusting.

He and Dumba together on the PP are something special.
Yeah I can see that as well. Hunt can move the puck well and has a heavy shot. It's very positive that some players can develop themselves in the right circumstances

A key thing to a point shot is getting it off, and getting it through. Accuracy is not as important as it is for a forward. There are so many bodies that it is often deflected/screened anyway.
