Or a Cody ceci

Who is doing totally fine this year as he is used properly, best +/- on the Pens. GA/60 at ES lower than 2 (lowest on the Sens is 2.76)

Ceci is also 4th in GP from the 2013 draft and 18th in points, as a D-man (who has been miscast as a defensive D-man for years)

Sure, you'd rather have a Chabot or Karlsson as it is an homerun but sometimes it's also ok to hit a simple or a double. It really depends where you draft, behind which teams and also the draft class.

I think only the top 2 picks are up for Lotto.
Yep - more info on the changes to future drafts and on the 2021 draft below

On March 23, 2021, the NHL Board of Governors approved three rule changes to the NHL Draft Lottery system that determines the order of the NHL Draft (for those teams that did not qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs).

  • The NHL Draft Lottery will now include only two drawings instead of the three drawings held in the years prior.
  • A team that wins a lottery drawing cannot move up more than 10 spots.
  • A team cannot win the lottery more than twice in a five-year period. (Lottery wins prior to the 2022 NHL Draft Lottery are not applied towards this total.)

Only the first of these changes will apply to the 2021 NHL Draft Lottery, while the second and third rule changes will be applied to the 2022 NHL Draft Lottery.

The two non-playoff teams selected in the 2021 NHL Draft Lottery will receive the top two picks, regardless of their place in the standings. While this is not a major change from the current system, limiting the lottery to two drawings does guarantee that the team that finishes at the bottom of the standings will pick in the Top 3.

Dumb thread. We're trying to win games, not lose them.
This weird virtue signalling logic is dumb. We're trying to win a cup. If dropping a few games now helps that, I'm all in.

Nobody would ever throw a game, obviously, but bring in Abramov, Brown, Lassi and JBD. Move Stu to center. Reduce Chabot's ice time and try out Brann and Mete in bigger roles. Ice Mandolese or weaker goalie options. Try some different line combos and plays.

Use the games to experiment and reward prospects and let the results fall where they will.

Without going to that extreme, playing Abramov, JBD and Gus, and reducing Chabot's ice time to the benefit of Brann and Mete are no-brainers to me. We might not even lose!

Yeah. That's definitely a possibility.

Thanks for posting this and the link\ to the source.

I wish the league would smarten up and get rid of the lottery. If they cared about teams at the bottom of the league they would not deny them the top picks.

This is a draft where they should fill some needs at RW & RD, (Dylan Guenther RW & Corson Ceulemans RD or Scott Morrow RD).

Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
Stutzle - Pinto - Guenther
