What the f*** are you guys f***ing kidding me on this?!?
It really could have been like this more often than not this season if not for Darling. I know that's a lot to lay at the feet of one player, but it's a pretty easy argument.
It's sad, when I look at the games that Darling's cost us, not games where the team played like shit but just happened to have Darling in net, but legitimately cost us like last night and think if we even had replacement level goaltending those nights we're right up there with Washington and Pittsburgh in the division race right now. That's not a joke either, we're at 84-85 points if Darling's replaced by even replacement level goaltending in the following games:
11-11 vs CHI.
11-16 @ NYI.
12-9 @ LA.
12-11 @ ANA.
2-15 @ NJ.
3-12 @ NYR.
Even if you argue we don't win all those, but just half that puts us literally on the heels of a playoff spot, not a mile out in need of a miracle like we are now.
