In a vacuum no. So long as this isn't the big addition. Sweeney promised significant changes and we haven't seen much yet.

Love, love this deal. Fair term and the cap hit is plenty fair. Looking forward to seeing him play.

I can see him becoming a fan favorite if he meshes well with Coyle, I hope they're still after a bigger fish so we can let him be more of a depth player. Coyle and Smith on the 3rd line sounds incredible. Either way, with injuries, he's a really great option to be able to move around the lineup.

I think it’s the internal realization that every year Bruins fans think they have a serious shot at the top FA stars and then news breaks of a good not great player getting signed instead, effectively signaling that we aren’t getting said top star and they turn on that good not great player as a result

to the Bruins fans that think we aren’t “out in Hall now” I wouldn’t get your hopes up, come back to earth in that one a little
