Chevy surprised us last year at the TDL. He did something no one saw coming. If we're building a team to win the Cup what bold trades would you make to not only win this year but to build a team to win for a number of years.

The first Bold Proposal:

Jets Trade: Jacob Trouba (extended), Nikolaj Ehlers, Bryan Little,
Nic Petan, 2019 1st

[TBODY] [/TBODY]
for
Panthers: Aleksander Barkov, Michael Matheson

2nd Bold Proposal:

Jet's Trade:
Brendan Lemieux, Andrew Copp, 2019 2nd
for
Hurricanes Trade:
Brett Pesce RD 23 yrs old

3rd Bold Proposal:
Jet's Trade:
Kristian Vesalainen,
for
Canucks Chris Tanev 29yrs old RD extend both him and Brandon 3yrs

4th Bold Proposal:
July 1, Jets sign Mark Stone as a UFA for 7.5M over 8 years

SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!

1st proposal is too much from us, second proposal is not enough from us, third proposal I wouldn’t do personally, fourth proposal I would do assuming we do the first three proposals (and therefore have the cap space).

Sign-and-trades are mostly lies that fans of teams trading rental stars pretend happen so they can slowly acclimate themselves to losing their best players for pennies on the dollar.

Duchene, Stone, and Scheif all played on the 2016 Team Canada at the Men's World Ice Hockey Championship.

That would not interest Florida in the least. They lose their franchise player to moderately upgrade their defense, massively downgrade their center position, add a top 6 winger they don't really need and clog up their cap situation.

Jet's Trade:
Brendan Lemieux, Andrew Copp, 2019 2nd
for
Hurricanes Trade:
Brett Pesce RD 23 yrs old

LOL. No. That isn't what Pesce would cost. Like, not even in the ballpark

3rd Bold Proposal:
Jet's Trade:
Kristian Vesalainen,
for
Canucks Chris Tanev 29yrs old RD extend both him and Brandon 3yrs

This is simultaneously bad for the Jets (using a cost controlled asset to acquire an aging defenceman?) and for the Canucks (if they're willing to take on cap they can get better and more proven player(s) than Vesalainen).

4th Bold Proposal:
July 1, Jets sign Mark Stone as a UFA for 7.5M over 8 years

This is the cherry on top because it is actually an illegal contract. Only a team re-signing a player can offer a FA an 8 year deal. Every other team is limited to a 7 year deal.
