We should see about starting a Sportsbook bet on the next Blues player traded. That of course, requires odds on everyone - but what the hell, it might be fun.

I tried to be optimistic folks.

But nothing good is happening for the Blues this year.

I agree. I would imagine that even as ineffective as he has been, either (both?) Edmonton and Anaheim would offer a middling pick or prospect for him given their current needs and their history with him.

New Jersey would certainly be interested in Maroon. He fit the team like a glove last Spring, and there was mutual interest in signing an extension. Shero admitted to offering significantly more money than St. Louis. Family matters obviously, and understandably, tipped the scales, and that was that.

I'm sure Shero is eyeing the Maroon situation closely. He'd be especially welcome in NJ to lessen the sting of trading Boyle at the deadline - which is sad, but we need the 2nd+ he'll return. Shero would obviously prefer to pluck him off waivers, but if someone else submits a bid, I don't think he'd hesitate to move a 6th or 7th or whatever it'd take.

I could see NJ claiming him, as they had a scout at our last game and he played well in his brief stint there. Edmonton makes sense as they have no depth and Hitch loves his big boys.

Edit: after reading the above post it makes me wonder if all those scouts weren't there for Maroon! Haha

Maroon was horrible in Jersey last year and even worse in the playoffs.
Yet we hear they still tried to sign him so I don't know. My guess is Army is trying hard to trade him as we speak. Good for the Blues fir finally Manning up to this tough situation. No one wanted it to go down like this but putting him in the press box at least is a start to ending this. Should have been done weeks ago.

Sometimes playing at home just doesn't work for some players. Being away from family and friends that can influence your off time can be a positive thing. It is unfortunate for both Maroon and the Blues that his play hasn't worked out this year. When he moves on either during this season or during the off-season, it will be best for the Blues.

This, and it's best for Maroon to move on ASAP to try and maximise his value in the summer.

Maybe one day we'll get a St. Louis player that actually does well here.

Until then...

I hope it's one of the Tkachuks, as much of a pipe dream as that is. I don't care what the haters say, I love Matthew's game and would love to see him wear the Note one day.

What would we have to add to send him to the Devils for Studenic? I don't think we would send a pick, but a B-level prospect would be fine.

Maroon + Walman for Studenic?

Maroon had 13 points in 17 games with the Devils, and was a seamless fit on our powerplay. Exactly what the team needed, frankly. I was skeptical at the acquisition, but it proved to be brilliant.

With the trade rumors being what they are, it would make sense that they were entertaining the idea of waiving Maroon.

Scratched today, getting waived tomorrow. Hugs at the airport as the rest of the team boards to go to Philadelphia. It's all so simple, how could it not go down like that?

Not that your wrong in this thought process, but him not being very skilled doesnt help him either. Blues didnt have the elite talent to stick him with.
