With the St. Louis Blues having been knocked out of the first round for the 2nd year in a row and the team clearly up against the cap unable to keep all of their veteran players, the Blues are putting several are on the block.
Not all of these players will be traded, but likely up to three of them.
FORWARDS
Logan Couture - coming off a 70 points season and only 29 years old, Couture is poised to sign a long-term deal for $8M per year matching his long-term NHL deal. A 1st and high end prospect sought.
Zach Parise - undergoing a career renaissance, Parise led the Wild in scoring with 28 goals and 61 points. Signed long-term in the NHL at $7.54M, this deal will have to be match, but represents fair value at his current production rate. A 1st or a high end prospect sought.
Yanni Gourde - only 27, Gourde is coming off two seasons averaging 24 goals and 55 points per year. Due for a raise to $5M to match his NHL contract. A 2nd round pick or an excellent prospect sought.
Zdeno Chara - poised to become a UFA, available for a conditional draft pick if signed.
Anton Stralman - poised to become a UFA, available for a conditional draft pick if signed.
Picks or futures are primary return sought, although a starting goalie can work too.
