Calculation..

"HHOF Monitor" formula for DEF =

Cup - "HHOF Monitor" 50 pts (minimum 5 Adj PO GMS) +
Final - "HHOF Monitor" 25 pts (minimum 5 Adj PO GMS) +

Have you considered increasing these point levels for each subsequent Cup/Final? There's such a high level of importance placed on multiple championships or even runs to the Final (especially with the same team), that it seems like something that should be factored in, particularly if the player was the #1 Dman on his teams (maybe just determine that by TOI - i.e. you only get the extra points if you're first in TOI/GP among Dmen on the team).

Something like the points double each time (i.e. Duncan Keith gets 50 pts for the first Cup, 100 pts for the second, and 200 pts for the third). Maybe if it's not with the same team the increase isn't as much.
That's a lot of extra points, but outside of some kind of controversy, is there any chance a 3 time Cup winning #1 Dman isn't getting into the HHOF?

Some things really stand out here.

2005 was a stellar year for goalies. Vasi is quickly establishing himself as the best of this century. Fleury, to my mind, is overrated and Price underrated.

None of that is a criticism of your work @BlueBull . Many thanks.

Perhaps Kris Letang would be a good example then?
Kris Letang Is a good example (~625 HHOF Monitor PTS).

1000 is the threshold for being a sure thing. While there are around 7 modern players right now on the outside looking in with 1000+, I would suspect players like Brind'Amour, Tkachuk, Elias and Mogilny will get their nods eventually.

However, it's usually around 700 that's the Threshold to be in the Conversation at all, especially for defensemen who don't get many chances to build up Monitor like Forwards. (Zubov actually had a HHOF Monitor of 603.5 and got in.)

Because of this threshold, the case for Sergei Gonchar (675.9 HHOF Monitor Points) is very wierd. He's the most productive Defensemen currently on the outside looking in, and he was very close to hitting 700. In fact, if it weren't for just 9 votes in the 2008 All Star Team Voting, he would have been a 2nd Team All Star that year and had a Monitor of 700+.

and that brings us back to the #1 Defenseman with Cups example. Sergei Gonchar and Kris Letang are probably the biggest examples of 1D defenseman outside the Hall of Fame.
