They aren’t a good enough team to be throwing picks away on one year of Snell and Chapman as far as I’m concerned

Draft pick are overrated

They added other solid pieces, Jung Hoo Lee, Robbie Ray, Jorge Soler, Jordan Hicks etc.

They can make some noise and surprise people

Snell was a hard sell for a huge contract. Sure hes got two Cy Youngs, but he was super mid in between those two wins. Like he didn't receive Cy votes in any other year.

Is Boras the only one who is having this happen to his guys?

Lorenzen just signed for peanuts, and he isn't a Boras client

Still a few serviceable or better guys left out there, most are getting a bit long in the tooth though

Brandon Belt
JD Martinez
Tommy Pham

Clevinger
Montgomery
Urias - he has some circumstances that is probably keeping him unsigned

The thing with some of these guys, especially the pitchers, is their value really goes down as the season starts and they have to do extended spring training.

For sure, and for the hitters it might just be the end of the line for some of them, teams would rather run with a younger guy and see what they can do rather than bringing in a 38 year old on their last legs who is limited to being a DH

I am sure there are more than a few guys that regret not taking the offers that were previously on the table
