Marquise Goodwin and Cardale Jones both returned to practice Monday after injuries kept them on the sidelines over the past week.

Mingo sucks big time!

I like the move a lot. The Pats are bringing in first round raw talent whom they graded highly, inserting them into a proven system, and trying to develop them as complimentary players. It's a smart, low cost approach. Another way they're always operating a couple steps ahead.

AFC East has a terrible first 4-6 games for each team:

Jets: Cinci, @Buffalo, @KC, Seattle, (@Pit, @Arizona)
Dolphins: @Seahawks, @Pats, Browns, @Cinci, (Ten, Pit)
Patriots: @Arizona, Miami, Houston, Buffalo (@Cle, Cinci)
Bills: @Balt, NYJ, Arizona, @NE, (@LA, SF)

If teams play like they did last year, Jets could be 0-6 to 2-4, Dolphins could be 3-3, Pats could be 2-4 or 3-3.

I'd have to think the Bills have the easiest first 6 games.

That Jets schedule is just brutal.

I kind of feel like they need to be 4-2 at that point. Weeks 7-10 aren't fun either: @MIA, NE, @SEA (MNF), and @CIN. Then our bye. If we can get to the bye week at 5-5 we could go on a late run with the softer portion of the schedule (though it still won't be a cakewalk by any means) but that's probably the worst we can be.

Statement from Vikings Director of Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer Eric Sugarman on Teddy Bridgewater:

Teddy Bridgewater suffered a non-contact injury today at practice. The injury was quickly identified as a dislocated knee. The injury was stabilized, and he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation. After undergoing an MRI, it was determined that Teddy suffered a complete tear to his ACL and other structural damage. Fortunately, there appears to be no nerve or arterial damage. Surgical repair will be scheduled within the next few days. Although the recovery time will be significant, we expect Teddy to make a full recovery. I would like to thank all of the medical professionals and our athletic training staff for all of their help today. Teddy has already displayed the attitude needed to overcome this injury and attack his rehab.

all things considered, sounds like teddy got really lucky. knee dislocation can lead to all sorts of extremely scary things, and is oftentimes accompanied by the tearing of several ligaments, not just the ACL. it can also lead to full-blown leg amputation depending on the exact nature of the injury (torn arteries aren't uncommon) and the amount of time it takes for treatment.

one season lost is one of the absolute best case scenarios for this type of injury

How do the Buffalo Bills stack up across the league in terms of blue-chip players? Pretty well according to ESPN's John Clayton.

Clayton evaluated every NFL roster for high-end talent in an ESPN Insider article and he found that Buffalo had eight blue-chip players. Buffalo came in at No. 11 on Clayton's list.

Offense (5): Cordy Glenn, OL; Richie Incognito, OL; LeSean McCoy, RB; Sammy Watkins, WR; Eric Wood, OL

Defense (3): Ronald Darby, CB; Marcell Dareus, DT; Stephon Gilmore, CB

Eric Wood is a blue chip player?

Huh.
