Fedor Gordeev
6'6" 211lbs LHD
Great skater with natural offensive instincts
Transitioned from W to D full time at the start of THIS YEAR
Extended ice time coming his way next year
From Toronto and cried when the Leafs took him - wants to be a Leaf

He was a Dman in minor hockey. May have played more wing than D in junior but he's spent plenty of time on the blueline.

I really like the Scott Reedy pick for San Jose. He has great puck skills and a power forward frame. Really looking forward to seeing how he adapts to the NCAA. Was projected much higher to start the season.

Ok, so are they supposed to be "steals" based on draft day value or based on projecting years from now who will be risers.....? Here's some of the latter (and a handful also the former):

#104 Mikey Anderson (LAK)
#105 Santeri Virtanen (WPG)
#113 Alexei Toropchenko (STL)
#117 Emil Bemstrom (CBJ)
#121 Drake Batherson (OTT)
#127 Lukas Elvenes (VGK)
#128 Tyler Steenbergen (ARZ)
#136 Leon Gawanke (WPG)
#137 Noah Cates (PHI)
#155 Linus Olund (PIT)
#180 Cole Guttman (TB)
#194 Dylan Ferguson (DAL)
#199 Cayden Primeau (MTL)
#204 Daniel Bukac (BOS)

The player I am thinking about almost made it to the 4th rd. But since this is rd 4 to 7 steals. Won't bother to mention it here.

I thought the Safin pick was the strongest value pick of the draft. He should have went top 50 easily. If he pans out teams will feel stupid for passing on him.

Guys fell for a reason. To pretend you know more than every team is just silly. It'll take a few years before we see any 'steals'.

This^^^^^^^

It is laughable that these armchair experts think there little draft guides mean anything. Players drop for good reason and the vast majority of the time their drop is proven to be validated years later.

A true steal is usually a player that hasn't had much exposure due to various reasons such as injury, location, politics etc. These are the only players that should be mentioned as potential steals this close to the completion of a draft. Even so they should only de earmarked as potential steals and not some definitive heist.

I disagree with you and the other poster....

Luc Robitaille dropped in a draft for being a bad skater, Theo Fleury for being short.....there is hundred of examples but these 2 are the best. The team who take a chance was willing and they think the guy have talent but this against him, all others passed on them but the team who selected them gambled and it paid! Thats a steal because these players end up being better than most of first rounders.

When Tampa selected Palat in round 7, he was a 7th round pick value that day. Now years later he gave them 3 good seasons and if they trade him tomorow, they'll still get way way more.

Everything in life has a value so if you get something that you could resell 2 times or 5 times more you did a benefit or a steal.

The goal of all this is to try to guess who will be the next Fleury, Robitaille, Palat etc....because there will be and it will be a steal for when it was taken.

Safin has been getting alot of love from scouting circles in draft recap pieces. He was rated 40 by FC, 51 by Mackenzie and 53 by ISS, plus never ranked lower than 98. He ended up going 115, so from a value perspective, it looks great. Although well have to wait 5 years to see

I'm falling in love with a pick BUF made in the 7th.

192OA - Linus Weissbach - overager but we great numbers for a 7th rounder 2 years in a row in SWE and USHL.

Kid has both speed and crafty hands. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HyDc-QRTos&t= If you show me this highlight reel, I'd be thinking 3rd rounder tops.

Really, really impressed with Weissbach, kid could be our Arvidsson in a couple years.
