Justed looked at the contract that need negotiating this summer and a few are very important to the future of the coyotes...... rieder, stone, Murphy, Louis d, dahlbeck, klaus dahlbeck, Kevin connauton, gaudet.

And then other rfa's that Iam not sure what gmdm will do with them include plotnikov, selkac, tinordi, Phil Samuelson, Brendan s, Christian Thomas, Nick turtle, and Jordan Schwartz,

Think there could be a couple of those in the second group traded at the draft to move up or down a pick...... What do other people think

LOVE Rieder. Out of the dmen KConn's stock has risen over the past couple weeks. Lou D has proven he's earned the backup role.

I'd like us to be bright enough to keep some of the undesirables for Springfield to ice a competitive team there, but we clearly don't give a damn about our affiliate (and Tippett would probably keep some of the names in the NHL), so I doubt that happens.

Ebb, yikes ...

You won't get Stone, Murphy or Rieder for that long and that cheap.

You already want 5 years of Gaudet? Why?

You already want 2 years of Tanguay? Why?

Keeping Fournier but dumping Szwarz? Why?

You generally won't get 3 year extensions for anyone (Plotnikov) without a raise.

Reider/Stone/Murphy/Kconn/LD are the important signings. Reider/Stone/Murphy will cost more then you have suggested. Doan will be easy to sign if he wants to play.

The rest are filler, not many takers for the UFA's and no rights for the RFA's, doesn't matter much. All about money and fit.

I hope we don't lock ourselves into long-term deals when it's not necessary to do so.

Connauton, for example, has been impressive but I'd prefer to give him a a string of one years to make sure we know what we have here.

Plotkinov and Sekac have done nothing to warrant an extension. I also hope we move on from Jordan Szwarz. I'd like to re-sign Cunningham. I'd lean toward an outright release of Jarred Tinordi.

I could go either way on Tikhonov. I'm more in favor if he takes a 2-way deal.

Doan, Tanguay, and Gordon (especially Gordon) should only be given one-year deals. We'll happily keep doing that as long as their performance holds up.

Think it will cost more to resign rieder, Murphy and stone. Louie will bring expecting at least a 50% raise over 2 yrs

Thinking your spot on there, there's a couple of players in the Rfa/ufa group that we don't resign, selkac, shinnimin, downie can definitely be moved on for me

Tiknhonov,Plotnikov, Sekac all can go. They're just roster filler to finish out the year. No interest in bringing any of them back.

A lot of your salary values are way off. Why would Reider and Murphy sign away 5 years at 2 million/year? They'll either get a long term deal around 3.5 - 4 million/year or we'll sign them to a short term, 2 year deal for less AAV. No way that happens.

Murphy: $1.75M X 2yr bridge
Stone: $3.5M X 4 yr
Rieder: $2.25M X 3yr
Doan: $3M X 2yr

I think they'll keep one of Shinnimin/Szwarz/Cunningham for continuity sake. Personally, I hope it's Shinnimin, but I don't think it much matters. Whoever it is will probably be passed by on the depth chart pretty quickly. Lot of prospects on the AHL squad next year.

Not a big multi-quoter, so I'll just jot out my thoughts here...

I was definitely low on Murphy, Stone (although I sort of wish we'd move him), and Reider, but we're looking at a 2nd line winger, a 2nd line defender (Murphy), and a 4th/3rd line defender (Stone) so I wouldn't overpay them (again I was low)

Szwarz is probably NHL worthy (4th line), but he won't get that here

Gaudet is a good Center, I'd prefer to move on from Gordon and see him as a decent replacement for 4th line duty. I'd prefer 3 years (and possibly 4) on him rather than 5

I like what I've seen from Plotnikov; he's a hitter (not a scorer)

Fournier for the farm. I think we need to totally re-vamp the farm, consistency be damned! If we move on from the ones I mention, I expect DM to sign some new players for the farm along with prospects.

Nah, don't really care about researching realistic salary expectations around the league (that's what y'all are for ) ; plus, we are a budget team so most of those contracts would be very beneficial anyway. Rarely will someone put in an offer sheet for an RFA, and most of ours aren't going to garner much interest.

Generally I would agree, but we might want to get an extension in place for Toby Reeder / Tobias Rider sooner rather than later. He's an interesting kid, and the compensation up to $3.6m is just a 2nd. There's a price right around $2.8m or so where his speed and hands and PK ability look awfully tempting. If Korpikoski's Big Bag of Nothing earns him $2.5m and Boyd Gordon's faceoffs and 4 points/season get him $3m, there is a really good chance that someone might try to swipe our German. Obviously we can match, but what if a Toronto or an Edmonton offer 5x3.0? Are we married to him?

I'd happily give that to him. Consider his age. How likely is it that he becomes completely useless over the span of that deal? I'd say it's more likely he greatly exceeds the AAV of that deal, with better forwards on a team with something to play for.
